North Sea Arts is an international performing arts agency rooted in the cultural geography of the North Sea region — a shared maritime world connecting the United Kingdom with the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Germany.

We are tour producers, marketing partners, and education programme builders. We believe that art which crosses water carries something extra: the residue of the journey, the thrill of the new audience, the surprise of mutual recognition between cultures that have been trading ideas for centuries.

"The North Sea was never just a body of water. It has always been a conversation."

Our ambition is to be the premier agency for UK artists touring the North Sea coastline — presenting the best of British creativity in Dutch, Nordic, Belgian and German venues and festivals — while building an equally vital pipeline bringing European excellence back to UK stages.

Beyond touring, we develop education and community engagement programmes that connect visiting artists with local schools, conservatoires and cultural organisations, ensuring every tour leaves a lasting relationship, not just a memory.

Three ways we move art

01

International Touring

End-to-end tour production for UK artists across the North Sea region. Venue booking, logistics, technical riders, local promotion and on-the-ground production management — from intimate theatres in Groningen to headline festival slots in Bergen and Copenhagen.

02

Marketing & Promotion

Bilingual marketing campaigns built for each territory. Press and media relations with Dutch, Scandinavian and UK outlets; social media management; EPK creation; digital advertising; audience development strategy. We know what resonates in Rotterdam as well as in Reading.

03

Education & Engagement

Bespoke programmes that embed touring artists into schools, conservatoires and community organisations. Masterclasses, residencies, open rehearsals, school performances and curriculum-linked workshops — creating relationships that outlast the tour.

Exchange

The case for building a North Sea cultural corridor has never been stronger. Post-Brexit, the need for structured pathways that help UK artists access European stages — and bring European artists to UK audiences — is acute. The cultural conversation that has always flowed across this sea needs an agency that understands it from both shores.

North Sea Arts is not simply a booking agency. We are architects of long-term relationships between artists, venues, festivals, educational institutions and audiences. A tour we produce becomes a thread in a much larger fabric — one that weaves the UK into the cultural life of the region in a way that benefits everyone.

The name North Sea Arts is deliberately larger than any single structure — built to grow into a consortium, a network, a movement.
